Building and feng shui

'Buildings and feng shui' is a feng shui study on places where human live and work, for example, living home feng shui, shop houses feng shui, office feng shui, factory feng shui, public places feng shui etc. the purpose of feng shui on the above premises is to choose lucky spots and avoid those unlucky spots. The method is actually to devide the office into eight directions, and utilize the theory of '5 elements' and 'ba gua' to determine which of the directions bring in luck, and which are unlucky. The principle surrounds 'luan tou' and 'li chi'.

'luan tou' means the surroundings of the premise, for example landscape, rivers and roads. Whereas 'li chi' is combination of inner design and directions of a house and the owner's 'ba zhi' to determine one's fortune.

Main important pointers in feng shui

I start with feng shui 'li chi', firstly, it is important to fix the direction of the house and the main door of the house, and this can be done by using a 'chinese compass'. 'chinese compass' is an important tool in feng shui that cannot be done away with. Therefore one must have the right tools to start with the process of determining the best feng shui.

For example, a car technician must have the right tools to repair a car, similarly, this applies to feng shui. If a person goes to your house to determine feng shui without bringing a 'chinese compass', then this feng shui master's ability should be questioned! A feng shui master who does not care about the accuracy of directions is like a doctor who is not careful with his prescription of medicine, which amounts to unprofessional and illogical.

The center of a Chinese compass is a compass to determine directions. When a Chinese compass is placed properly, one should use his thumb to spin the round plate of the compass, until the center hand of the compass points at the 'zhi wu' line. The thick magnetic needle of the compass must point to the north, and the thinner needle should point to the south. Other directions can only be determined when north and south are fixed.

Besides the magnetic needles of the compass, the writings on the compass are use for determining feng shui. Therefore a Chinese compass is only a tool used specifically in feng shui and no other usage.

'chinese compass' determines the direction of the house; directions would determine the fortune; 'ba zhi' then determines the feng shui.

It is amusing that those who does not know the usage of 'chinese compass' normally blindly treats it as a treasure. Rumors that Taiwan people buy 'chinese compass' to hang around their house thinking that that is 'feng shui'! by doing this, it is just like leaving car repairing tools on the car without going to a technician, thinking that the car would be repaired just like that!

Even though you have got 100 'chinese compass' hanging around the house, and you do not know how to use them, then 'chinese compass' is redundant to you. When you know the usage of it, one compass is already enough, however if you do not know how to use it, even you have a thousand of it is equally useless.

The most important thing in feng shui for premises is the direction of the main door, which is when you are standing at the main door, the outwards direction that you are facing. This main door must be able to absorb the 'chi'. The direction of the door must coincide with the 'ba zhi' nad '5 elements' of the owner, normally father or husband for living home, boss for shops, directors or managing directors for companies.

'bazhi', '5 elements' and direction of door

For example if the house owner's 'ba zhi' favours 'water' (one of the 5 elements), then the main door should face north, north-east or north west to absorb 'water chi'. If the 'ba zhi' of the house owner favours 'fire', then door should be facing south, south-east or south west to absorb 'fire chi'.

If the house owner's 'ba zhi' favours 'water' but conflicts with 'fire', then a door facing south would be double jeopardy, and the owner would be unlucky. For example if a person is hot, a layer of thick blanket on him would suffers him a lot.

The second point on feng shui for premises is the good and bad luck of various directions of house. This method follows the center point found from the floor plan. From this center point, eight directions can be split equally, we call these 'ba gua' directions, which is ZHEN, KAN, HSUN, LI, QIAN, DUI, KUN, KEN.

'east, southeast, north, and south' are the 'east house category', whereas the 'west, southwest, northeast and northwest' are the 'west house category'. All of these must be calculated in conjunction with the owner's 'bazhi'.

Those in the 'east house category' will best face east, south, north and southeast. Facing the other four direction could bring in bad luck.

Those who were in the 'west house category' will best face west, southwest, northwest and northeast. Facing the other four directions could bring bad luck.

For example those male who were born in 1964, dog year, will be in the east category, their bedroom, working desk, main door etc should face east, south, north and southeast to absorb 'dragon chi', or lucky 'chi'. Whereas for female of the same year, they will be in the west category, facing west, southwest, northwest and northeast will be the best.

'ba zhi' and feng shui

it is important to know the owner's 'ba zhi', '5 elements' and 'ba gua' to be able to determine the feng shui for the premise.

If a person comes to your house for feng shui telling without asking your 'ba zhi', '5 elements' and 'ba gua', this is illogical! It is like doing a blood transfusion without knowing the blood type; the consequences of it could be fatal!

The first step to determine feng shui is to determine a person's 'ba zhi', '5 elements' and 'ba gua'. Different person should live in houses with different feng shui. It does not mean that you'll be rich if you move into a house of a millionaire, on the other hand, it might even be harmful to you!

Even though a particular house is good, it must also fit the person that lives in it.for example ginseng is very nourishing, but not anyone can consume as it might be too heaty for certain people.

'chinese compass' is not a mirror to destroy evil forces

Chinese compass, which is commonly used for feng shui, was invented by ancestors for the purpose of determining magnetic field. It acts as a calculator in feng shui.

If you open up a Chinese compass, it is made up of wooden plate and metals. It comprises many round plates, with a lot of writings and symbols on it. Therefore a person who does not know how to use it would find it difficult to comprehend. This is even so with some imposters.

Even more amusing is that some treats Chinese compass as evil force detector. These people would hold a Chinese compass, looking like a 'ghost buster' trying to tell that evil forces exist in your house!

Family members are suffering - problem with the living home
Company business not doing well - problem with the office
No money and no children - problem with ancestor's burial grave

The main idea of feng shui is whether a place has 'feng' (wind) and 'shui' (water). To keep the winds and absorb the 'chi' depends on 'mountain'. But to have water we have to look for the source of water itself.

Mountains are the 'chi' and water is the blood.

In simple words, 'mountain' in feng shui means the breath of dragon, and water is the blood of the dragon. The strength of the dragon depends on the flow of the blood (water). Without water a dragon cannot be active, and it will only be a dead dragon. It is like human's body, life depends on the circulation of blood, if the heart stops beating, the blood doesn't get to flow, and this person will surely be a dead person. Therefore in order for the dragon to stay alive, water must flow within.

If a person visits your house to advice you on feng shui, but does not look at the water your house is getting, than rest assure that you would not get much out of this person, forget about getting from him advice on getting rich. It is like without examining the blood of the patient, doctor will not know the activity of the blood cells.

Water, flows from where, and to where…
This decides the fortune…

The study of water in feng shui, there are two important aspects. They are the source of the water, and to where the water flows. It is important because even the land is good but without a good water system will seriously affects the land.

For example a house, we must pay attention to the river in front of the house, or the drain beside the road, from where the water came from. Where the water flow out from the drainage system in the house, also from where our tap water flows into our house. These are some very important aspect we must really pay attention to. Even the particular house might have some very good direction absorbing 'chi', without a good water system, it can be said that this house do not have a good and commanding feng shui. A bad water system can sometimes cause bankruptcy; a good water system on the other hand brings wealth and success.

To examine the water system and the luck it brings, the 'san yuan' geographical method is the most accurate.

According to the 'san yuan' method, firstly we have to determine the position of the house, which means the directions of the house where it backs and faces.

Water from 'sian tian' direction, ensures safety to family.

If water comes into the house from 'sian tian' direction, then family will be harmonious and safe. Normally the location of the water meter in the place where water comes into the house. If water goes out of the house at 'sian tian' direction, then it could be very bad to the family members.

'hou tian' water direction, ensures wealth

if the water meter is placed at 'hou tian' direction, this can bring wealth to the family. However, if water flows out from this direction, then wealth will follow the water out.

Another two good directions for water to flow into our house is the 'pu gua' and 'di xing'.

Rule for water to flow out from the house

Besides the above four directions whereby water cannot flow out, water can flow out of the house from any other directions. However to achieve best feng shui result, the direction water should flow out must be accordance to the feng shui factors of the house. For example house that back south face north, the best place for water to flow out would be from the 'xing' direction.

'bin shui', 'ke shui' and 'tian jie' are directions whereby water flows out but not in. The worst being 'tian jie', therefore the water meter should not be placed at this direction for the water to flow in.
